Andrew Morley
Dr Andrew Morley studied medicine at Cambridge University and London Hospital Medical College. He trained in anaesthesia at several London teaching hospitals. During his training he also spent six months as a doctor with HEMS, the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service based at the Royal London Hospital, and three years as a visiting lecturer in anaesthesia at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

In 1999, he was appointed Consultant Anaesthetist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust and appears in the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Anaesthesia. His work at Guy's and St Thomas's Hospitals has included setting standards and protocols for best clinical practice. He also trains and mentors junior anaesthetists there.

Dr Morley has a longstanding and active involvement in clinical research. His current project concerns the molecular mechanisms of general anaesthesia and genetic factors influencing patient susceptibility to anaesthetic drugs. He has lectured widely about his earlier research on awareness under anaesthesia and anaesthetic depth monitoring - work which has been published in both the UK and the US.

If you would like to speak to Dr Morley regarding anaesthetic concerns prior to your surgery, please contact our office so that we can arrange this for you.
